The basic of preparing meat

You can prepare meat in different ways. Depending on what type of meat you have, you can: bake, roast, stew, grill/BBQ and boil.
Baking means that you brown the meat on both sides in hot oil and/or butter in an open pan in preparation for what you want to do with the meat. There are different methods for frying meat:
Quick frying, which means that you brown the meat on both sides and the meat is not overcooked on the inside. Depending on the type of meat, cooking takes from 4 to 8 minutes.
Bake slowly. Here, after quickly frying, the meat is slowly further fried, turning occasionally. The time depends on the type of meat and varies from 10 to 20 minutes.
Stewing means that after slowly frying you add water and/or an acid (vinegar, tomatoes) to the meat, causing it to simmer until the meat is done. The time depends on the type of meat and varies from 3 to 4 hours.
Grilling and BBQ is browning and cooking the meat on both sides using radiant heat without adding fat. The time depends on the type of meat and varies from 10 to 25 minutes.
Cooking the meat means letting it cook in a pan with water. This can be either cold or hot water. Depending on the recipe, you use cold or hot water, the time varies from 20 minutes to 3 hours.
